Abstract
Assessing alterations in sweat function is a reliable way to predict autonomic nervous system (ANS) dysfunction, which is a major risk factor for all-cause mortality in the general adult population [1]. Previous research has identified obesity, metabolic syndrome (MS), and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) as risk factors for coronary heart disease (CHD) [2,3]. However, it is not well established whether these risk factors are related to ANS dysfunction as measured by sweat function. To address this question, SUDOSCAN was developed as a quick, simple, non-invasive, and quantitative tool for assessing sweat function [4,5].
